The Humalog team wanted to remind healthcare professionals that it is an effective mealtime insulin for patients
with diabetes. They also felt that
they needed to separate themselves
from their competition by reinforcing
they also have support materials
for patients.
The first 2 direct mail pieces are healthcare professional-facing. Their purpose was to show how Humalog can fit into a patient's life using photography as well as pop-up
and shade reveal formats to engage the
user. The third is a patient-facing tool
called Small Steps it is to help patients learn how to stick with their therapy as it's not possible for their doctors to always be with them in their everyday lives. It gives weekly tips as well as how to go online and receive support materials such as log books, calorie counters, etc. The last piece is a clean and simple booklet to explain the Small Steps program to physicians so that they can
then educate their patients on using it
for extra support.
