DISNEY & LILLY DIABETES

In 2011, Disney and Lilly Diabetes teamed up to create Coco The Monkey, Disney's first character with Type 1 diabetes.

 

Since 2011, there had been Coco books available to children and their caregivers,
but in 2016, Lilly wanted to develop an educational program for those who had been, or had loved ones who were,
newly diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes.
 

It was our job to create an engaging way
to get caregivers to enroll in the program.
It started with a registration card that the doctor would give to the caregiver, from there they would go to the website and
enter a code to enroll. After they were registered, Coco was on her way to her
new home.

The box that Coco arrived in was meant
to be labeled by the child and colored
in, a creative way to individualize their
own personal Coco doll. There was also
a welcome packet that accompanied her
with coloring pages and games.
